I’m recruiting on behalf of a fantastic client who’s looking for a Service Delivery Engineer to join their project delivery team. This is a pure project role — no BAU escalations — ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on engineering, structured work, and delivering meaningful technical change.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering small infrastructure projects from start to finish
- Installing & upgrading Windows and Linux servers
- Building and maintaining directory services environments
- Implementing network changes (switches, VLANs, firewalls, wireless)
- Managing firewall rules, VPNs, and secure network access
- Supporting refresh, migration, and upgrade projects
- Testing, validating, and handing over changes into BAU
- Creating clear and helpful technical documentation
- Working closely with Project Managers, engineers, and external partners
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
- Experience in infrastructure engineering or technical project/change delivery
- Confidence working with a mix of Windows and Linux server environments
- Familiarity with networking concepts (switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
- Exposure to multi‑vendor networking and/or Linux firewalls (iptables/nftables)
- Experience with IPSec‑style VPN technologies
- Hands‑on experience with VMware or KVM hypervisors
- An organised approach to project delivery and documentation
- A genuine eye for detail and a methodical working style
- Experience in a client‑facing or professional services environment
- Knowledge of private cloud, hybrid networks, or hosted platforms
- Familiarity with tools like Jira or Confluence
