I’m recruiting on behalf of a fantastic client who’s looking for a Service Delivery Engineer to join their project delivery team. This is a pure project role — no BAU escalations — ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on engineering, structured work, and delivering meaningful technical change.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering small infrastructure projects from start to finish
  • Installing & upgrading Windows and Linux servers
  • Building and maintaining directory services environments
  • Implementing network changes (switches, VLANs, firewalls, wireless)
  • Managing firewall rules, VPNs, and secure network access
  • Supporting refresh, migration, and upgrade projects
  • Testing, validating, and handing over changes into BAU
  • Creating clear and helpful technical documentation
  • Working closely with Project Managers, engineers, and external partners

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Experience in infrastructure engineering or technical project/change delivery
  • Confidence working with a mix of Windows and Linux server environments
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Exposure to multi‑vendor networking and/or Linux firewalls (iptables/nftables)
  • Experience with IPSec‑style VPN technologies
  • Hands‑on experience with VMware or KVM hypervisors
  • An organised approach to project delivery and documentation
  • A genuine eye for detail and a methodical working style
  • Experience in a client‑facing or professional services environment
  • Knowledge of private cloud, hybrid networks, or hosted platforms
  • Familiarity with tools like Jira or Confluence
