We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer on behalf of one of our Edinburgh based clients. This is a very exciting opportunity to be working within a growing organisation, and work on interesting projects.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Invent & Build: Take ownership of electronic system design from initial concept to production-ready hardware.
- Collaborate & Create: Work closely with business development to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
- Design & Develop: Handle schematic design and PCB layout, selecting components that balance performance, cost, and availability.
- Test & Validate: Use lab tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters to verify and refine your designs.
- Review & Refine: Participate in design reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Integrate & Innovate: Partner with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware into complete systems.
- Document & Deliver: Prepare detailed design documentation and support the transition to manufacturing.
- Support & Solve: Assist in developing production test strategies and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
What you bring:
- Mastery of Cadence Allegro/OrCAD tools.
- Experience with high-speed SERDES (28G/56G PAM4).
- Knowledge of power electronics, especially DC-DC converters.
- Familiarity with high-speed memory interfaces.
- Understanding of compliance standards (EMC, Safety).
- Background in telecom/datacom hardware development.
