Do you instinctively spot problems that everyone else missed?

Do you read a process and immediately notice the loophole?

Can you sit through an audit without breaking into a cold sweat?

Have you ever found yourself saying

"That's great... but where's the evidence?"

If so, keep reading...

We're supporting an innovative aerospace technology company that's looking for a Design Quality Assurance Engineerto help ensure its engineering teams continue to deliver products that meet rigorous industry and regulatory standards.

This isn't a software tester role.

It's not a manufacturing quality role.

And it definitely isn't a box-ticking exercise.

This is about providing independent oversight across engineering activities, ensuring products, processes and evidence stand up to scrutiny before regulators ask the awkward questions.

What you'll be doing

You’ll act as the engineering team's trusted challenger, helping maintain the robustness of the company's Design Assurance System and supporting certification activities throughout the product lifecycle.

You’ll be

  • Reviewing engineering processes, documentation, code releases and technical artefacts.
  • Conducting audits and assurance activities across engineering projects.
  • Working closely with engineering teams to ensure compliance with established processes and standards.
  • Supporting engineering change activities and quality reviews.
  • Acting as a key liaison with aviation regulators, including EASA.
  • Helping improve and evolve engineering processes as products and regulations develop.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • Experience working within a controlled engineering lifecycle including requirements, design, development, verification, release and change control.
  • Experience conducting audits, reviews or independent assurance activities on engineering processes, documentation or deliverables.
  • The ability to critically review engineering artefacts and assess compliance against documented standards and procedures.
  • Experience acting as an independent reviewer rather than a direct contributor to product development.
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments, including software, electronics, systems, hardware or mechanical engineering.

Particularly relevant backgrounds include

  • Design Assurance Engineer
  • Engineering Quality Engineer
  • Product Assurance Engineer
  • Compliance Engineer
  • Certification Engineer
  • Systems Assurance Engineer
  • Aerospace Quality Engineer
  • Regulatory Compliance Engineer

Experience from aerospace is highly desirable, but we'd also love to hear from candidates from sectors such as:

  • Defence
  • Medical Devices
  • Rail
  • Automotive
  • Telecommunications
  • Other highly regulated engineering environments

You’ll fit in well here if...

You enjoy asking difficult questions.

You can challenge constructively without creating bureaucracy.

You believe good engineering is backed up with good evidence.

You appreciate that the most important issue in a project is often the one nobody has spotted yet.

And if you've ever secretly enjoyed an audit because it meant finding things that everyone else missed... we should probably talk.
