Experis are working with a client in the Education Sector based in Watford who are looking to recruit an experienced Network & Systems Engineer into their established IT team.
This is a broad, hands-on Network Engineer role supporting a \"Cisco Platform\" within a \"Microsoft Landscape\", with a particular emphasis on strong Cisco networking experience.
This is a \"Network Engineer Role\" first and foremost! MS Infrastructure Engineer second!
The successful candidate will support a business-critical infrastructure environment and work across a mixture of on-premise and cloud technologies.
Key responsibilities:
- Support and maintain Cisco network infrastructure
- Provide 3rd line support across server and network environments
- LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi technologies, IP telephony systems, firewalls, and systems architecture.
- Hyper-V, Microsoft 365 / Azure, backup Technologies, Active Directory,
- Support Windows Server and Active Directory technologies
- Support Azure and Microsoft 365 environments
- Manage and troubleshoot firewalls and wider network security technologies
- Support backup, recovery and core infrastructure services
- Investigate incidents and complete root-cause analysis
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades, projects and continuous improvement activity
- Work closely with wider IT teams and third-party suppliers where required
What we're looking for:
- Around 5+ years' recent Network / Infrastructure Engineering experience
- Strong hands-on Cisco networking knowledge, ideally at approximately CCNP level
- Strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience
- Good firewall knowledge
- Experience working with Azure
- Broad enterprise infrastructure experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable remaining technically hands-on
- Full Drivers License
A current CCNP qualification would be beneficial, although recent practical Cisco experience is more important than certification alone.
