- Purpose
Infrastructure Technical Project Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale virtualisation, infrastructure transformation, and migration programmes across the bank's global technology landscape.
The role will be responsible for planning, governing, and successfully executing complex infrastructure projects involving server virtualisation, data centre transformations, cloud adoption, operating system upgrades, platform remediation, and application migrations.
Working across multiple technology domains and business functions, the successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, securely, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and risk management standards.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure initiatives within enterprise-scale environments.
- Principal Responsibilities Project Delivery & Leadership
- Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure transformation projects from initiation through to implementation and operational handover.
- Manage the delivery of virtualisation, migration, cloud adoption, and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, delivery roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and governance artefacts.
- Ensure successful delivery against agreed scope, budget, timelines, quality standards, and business outcomes.
- Drive proactive management of risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Coordinate project resources across infrastructure, engineering, architecture, security, operations, and vendor teams.
- Facilitate project governance forums, steering committees, and executive reporting.
- Technical Infrastructure Delivery
Lead infrastructure migration activities including
- VMware and hypervisor migrations
- Server modernisation programmes
- Data centre exit and consolidation initiatives
- Cloud migration and transformation projects
- Operating system upgrades and refresh programmes
- Storage and network infrastructure migrations
- Coordinate technical readiness assessments, migration planning, testing, deployment, and business validation activities.
- Ensure technical solutions align with enterprise architecture, operational standards, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Support migration wave planning and execution across multiple applications and business services.
- Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project delivery across internal teams and external suppliers.
- Facilitate collaboration between architects, engineers, service managers, risk functions, and business representatives.
- Present project status, risks, delivery metrics, and decisions to senior leadership audiences.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to HSBC project management standards, control frameworks, and governance processes.
- Manage project financials, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, data protection, resiliency, and security requirements.
- Support change management processes, implementation reviews, and post project lessons learned activities.
- Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Manage infrastructure vendors, system integrators, and delivery partners.
- Track supplier performance against agreed deliverables and SLAs.
- Escalate and resolve commercial, technical, and delivery issues where necessary.

- Proven experience managing virtualisation and migration programmes within enterprise environments.
