Network Architect

Role Description:
A network architect to configure and support reliable, compliant, and supportable networks in Data Centres and Operation centres, that developers, test teams, and customers can use.
The day-to-day:
The Data Centre engineer will
- Work with a small team of Architects and engineers
- Distill High Level Architecture/Designs into Low Level design documents
- Create device configurations
- Push solutions through approval boards, TDA, Change, Security
- Implement configurations on devices
- Perform full testing plans IVT, OAT, UAT
- Provide network support for reported issues or problems
- Technologies will include Cisco Nexus, F5, Palo Alto, NetScout, Ansible.
- Adhere to business processes, standards, and security compliance.
- Collaborate with other Engineers and Architects, reporting to the lead Architect
Examples of day-to-day tasks include:
- Configure network hardware
- Configure Firewall policies
- Configure Load Balancing Profiles
- Create and maintain Low Level diagrams, documentation, and guides related to network infrastructure and operational processes
- Provide technical support to other teams, troubleshooting and diagnosing issues, and communicating effectively with management and higher-level support
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting

- Strong enterprise design experience
- Natural technical leader
- Strong documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Guide and mentor understudies
- Analytical problem-solving skills for triaging system alerts
- Ability to work with teams to resolve issues and develop practical solutions
- Experience with enterprise data centre application landscape
- Experience with virtualized network environments
- Strong experience with Cisco, F5, Palo Alto administration, including security and patch management
- Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, routing, ports, and firewalls
- Experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation
- Ability to work independently
- Strong troubleshooting skills in heterogeneous environments
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work across teams and geographically distributed teams
- Good written and oral communication skills
