Overview

We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to lead a significant investment programme across Technology Foundations within a large, complex retail enterprise environment. This role will oversee the transformation of core foundational technologies spanning cloud platforms, access management, infrastructure, and network services. The programme is broad in scope and enterprise-wide in impact, supporting operational capabilities across stores, supply chain, corporate functions, and international partner operations. While elements of the transformation will contribute to strengthening the organisation's security posture and maturing CIS Controls, this is not a security-specific leadership role. The primary focus is end-to-end technology transformation across foundational infrastructure and enterprise platforms.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of a large-scale Technology Foundations transformation programme across multiple infrastructure domains.
  • Establish and drive a structured, sequenced roadmap covering cloud, identity and access management, network architecture, and core enterprise platforms.
  • Ensure foundational technologies are designed and implemented in a way that supports business operations across retail stores, supply chain, head office, and international partner environments.
  • Oversee programme governance, financial management, risk control, milestone tracking, and executive reporting.
  • Align technology design and implementation with the broader enterprise operating model.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams and technical delivery teams across infrastructure and engineering domains.
  • Provide clarity and direction in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Engage confidently at executive level while maintaining oversight of delivery detail.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise IT transformation programmes.
  • Strong background across infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, and identity/access management within complex organisations.
  • Experience delivering deep enterprise technology solutions in large retail or similarly complex multi-site environments.
  • Ability to translate technology architecture into an operating model that supports end-to-end business operations.
  • Experience managing programmes that span domestic and international operations.
  • Strong executive communication and governance capability.
