This role sits at the intersection of digital interaction, product experience, and motion, helping bring early-stage ideas, concepts, and design thinking to life. The focus is on screens, interactions, and sensory experience—how users engage with devices through motion, feedback, and interface behaviour.
You will collaborate closely with innovation teams, industrial designers, and digital designers to visualise concepts for small screens, IoT devices, and wearable technology, translating ideation into clear, engaging motion explorations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and animate 2D and 2.5D motion concepts using Adobe After Effects
- Bring early-stage ideas, concepts, and innovation thinking to life through motion
- Create motion studies for:
- On-screen interactions and UI behaviour
- Small screens and IoT devices
- Wearables (e.g. smartwatches and connected devices)
- Device interactions including buttons, transitions, and feedback
- Interface behaviour
- Transitions and states
- Interaction logic and motion language
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong, hands-on experience using Adobe After Effects as a primary tool
- Proven ability to animate:
- UI elements and interactions
- Text, shapes, and illustrative assets
- Composited video where required
- Motion principles and interaction-led animation
- Compositing techniques (masking, blending modes, basic keying/roto)
- Pre-compositions and expressions for efficient workflows
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to IoT, wearable technology, or connected devices
- Experience collaborating with industrial designers or product teams
- Understanding of interaction design and user-centred motion
- Cinema 4D or light 3D awareness is a bonus, but not essential
- Confident working in fast-paced, concept-driven environments
What This Role Is
- Mid-weight motion designer role
- Conceptual and interaction-led
- Focused on innovation, devices, and experience
- Less about heavy VFX, more about clarity, behaviour, and storytelling through motion
