Join a leading UK Defence Prime delivering some of the most complex and safety‑critical engineering programmes in the industry. We are looking for an experienced Product Safety Engineer to help ensure the safe delivery of advanced defence systems used in real‑world operational environments. This role is based in Bristol, with a hybrid setup requiring 3 days per week onsite with highly skilled systems, hardware, software, and programme teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the safety lifecycle across a range of cutting‑edge defence projects, including:
  • Developing and maintaining Product Safety Management Plans
  • Conducting hazard identification, FMECA, FHA, FTA and other safety analyses
  • Producing and reviewing Safety Cases and technical justification
  • Working closely with engineering teams to ensure designs meet applicable safety standards
  • Supporting compliance activities across the development and verification process
  • Engaging with stakeholders, certifiers, and customers on safety matters

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in Product Safety Engineering within defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated domains
  • Knowledge of standards such as DEF-STAN 00‑056, IEC 61508, ARP 4761, or equivalents
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience in safety analysis techniques
  • Ability to develop and maintain safety documentation and assurance evidence
  • Confident communicator able to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • UK nationality required due to project security requirements
