The client: A MoD government agency with a strong focus on governance, risk and assurance.
The role: You’ll support a Business Assurance function to strengthen risk management and governance oversight - supporting senior leadership reporting, risk workshops, and continuous improvement of risk tools and processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and update strategic/corporate risk registers (quarterly+)
- Plan and facilitate risk workshops; capture and assess emerging risks
- Draft monthly/quarterly updates for senior leadership and assurance committees (incl. deep dives)
- Improve risk reporting dashboards and maintain risk portals/SharePoint content
- Track mitigations/actions, drive updates with risk owners, and maintain schedules/plans
- Support updates to risk policy/process/templates aligned to government risk guidance
- Provide stakeholder support across directorates and mentor risk focal points
- General admin: meeting organisation, documentation upkeep, assurance mapping, audit/risk schedules
Skills & experience required:
- IRMCert (or equivalent) and/or 3-5+ years' enterprise risk management experience
- Experience producing governance/risk reporting for senior stakeholders / boards / committees
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Strong organisation skills; able to manage competing priorities
- Excellent MS Office skills (Excel/PowerPoint/Word), MS Teams, SharePoint
- Must be able to meet UK government security vetting requirements
