Our client is leveraging the power of data and AI to solve business problems, improve customer experience, and drive commercial value. This is an architecture-led role within the Data Architecture & Design team, helping shape how data solutions are designed, governed, and made supportable across multiple business areas.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide architecture and design guidance across a portfolio of data projects, ensuring solutions align with platform strategy and future changes.
  • Guide functional design for data solutions (not hands-on development), producing clear design artefacts consumed by engineering teams.
  • Bring Personalisation into the wider Enterprise Data Science discipline by creating building blocks that move beyond one-off datasets.
  • Design reusable patterns within the existing cloud-hosted (Azure) data platform.
  • Assess impacts of internal and external change on the data estate, shaping solution options and managing trade-offs.
  • Support improved visibility, resilience, and governance for data pipelines used in Personalisation.
  • Work collaboratively with Product Managers, Data Governance, Data Analytics, Security teams, and fellow architects to influence design principles and decisions.
  • Help shape solution roadmaps across 3, 6, and 12-month horizons with key stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong experience in Data Solution Architecture (or a strong Data Engineering background focused on Data Science inputs/outputs).
  • Ability to manage stakeholders effectively, including challenging requirements constructively.
  • Confidence translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Clear understanding of data platforms/data lakes and how data science outputs connect into production-ready solutions.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity - balancing guidance, options, and decision-making when requirements evolve.
  • A collaborative, relationship-driven style (not directive), with a focus on practical outcomes like reusability, supportability, and governance.

Additional information:

  • Role focus: Personalisation (real-time experiences across website/app journeys) and building a more enterprise-ready approach for data pipelines.
  • Type: Contract role (6 months initially) with a possibility of extension.
  • Start: ASAP (14th June).
  • Office anchor day: Thursday or the last Friday of the month (additional in-office days not specified).
  • IR35: In scope.
