The Role
We are supporting a highly secure public sector programme delivering a large-scale cloud migration and technology modernisation initiative. They are seeking two experienced Cloud Architects to lead the analysis and transformation of legacy on-premise systems into a secure, scalable, cloud-native environment. You will be responsible for defining target architectures, shaping migration strategies, and supporting delivery teams to ensure modernised platforms meet both technical and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing on-premise estates and define cloud migration strategies
- Design secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures
- Lead architectural decision-making across multiple delivery teams
- Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application stakeholders
- Support cloud adoption using modern managed services
- Ensure migrations deliver measurable business and technical value
Essential Skills
- Strong experience with on-premise infrastructure (VMware, physical servers, networking, storage)
- Proven experience designing and delivering cloud architectures
- Strong understanding of cloud services, networking, and security
- Experience working across multiple technical teams
- Clear, confident communication of complex technical concepts
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, or equivalent)
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
