The Opportunity
We're looking for a reliable, hands-on Field Engineer to support a branch technology refresh in Truro. You'll complete a mix of re-installs (moving equipment back into position after layout changes) and new installs across customer-facing and staff areas. This is a practical, on-the-tools role, ideal for someone confident with desktop hardware, peripherals, and basic connectivity checks, who can work neatly in a professional environment and deliver a clean, documented handover at the end of the day.

- Re-Install Work (Ground Floor)
- You will re-install and position equipment for:
- 1x Quiet Room
- 1x Semi-Quiet Room
- Install monitor screens onto newly supplied monitor arms. Monitor arms will be supplied/positioned by the property team; you'll mount the monitors to the arms.
- 1x Admin desk position (behind counter)
- 1x ID scanner (behind counter)
- 1x Network printer (exact location to be confirmed on site)
- Re-Install Work (First Floor)
- Re-install equipment across 4x Quiet Rooms: Quiet Rooms 2, 3, 4 & 5
- New Install Work (Ground Floor)
- Install/set up:
- 1x Customer Self Service Room
- Tech Bar security lock solution
- Supply and fit 1x Kensington lock cable to the Tech Bar equipment
- Critical Requirement, Counter Positions
- This site is reducing from four counter positions down to two active counter positions. You must ensure:
- The two active counter positions are built using retail desktop PCs (NOT laptop-based setups).
- 1x admin position is installed at one blocked/closed counter position.
Day-to-Day Activities (What "Good" Looks Like)
- Unpack, position, and connect desktops, monitors, scanners, and printers
- Mount monitors safely to provided arms (clean alignment, secure fit, correct height/angle)
- Ensure tidy, professional cable management (no trip hazards; discrete routing)
- Perform basic functional checks: Power-on validation, Peripheral recognition, Print test (where feasible), Visual inspection of network connectivity (as applicable)
- Work neatly around operational teams and customer spaces with minimal disruption
- Provide a clear end-of-day update: what was installed, what remains outstanding, any issues/blocks
Skills & Experience We're Looking For (Essentials)
- Proven onsite experience with desktop hardware installs/re-installs
- Confidence installing and connecting: Monitors & monitor arms, ID scanners, Network printers, Standard desk/peripheral setups
- Strong practical ability: assembling, positioning, securing, and testing equipment
- Excellent professional conduct in a customer-facing/regulated environment
- Ability to follow site instructions and complete tasks within a single-day visit
- Own basic tool kit (typical field engineer hand tools) and a "leave it better than you found it" approach
Nice to Have
- Experience working in financial services, retail branches, or high-footfall sites
- Familiarity with floorplans, desk layouts, and site-specific install standards
- Basic troubleshooting capability (power, display, peripheral detection, print connectivity)

- Straightforward onsite engineering tasks with practical deliverables
- Competitive hourly pay with PAYE or Umbrella engagement options
