We are a growing Managed Services Provider specialising in secure, scalable cloud platforms for customer-facing websites and mobile applications. We're looking for an Azure Engineer with strong experience in Azure web hosting, Infrastructure as Code, and Kubernetes (AKS) to support and enhance customer environments. This role is heavily hands-on, working with production systems used by real customers, where automation, reliability, and performance matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Azure Web & Application Hosting
- Design, configure, and maintain Azure web and application hosting platforms
- Deploy infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Ansible)
- Build repeatable, secure hosting patterns for customer websites
- Optimise performance, availability, and cost across Azure services
- Configure and maintain Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments
- Support containerised mobile and web applications running in AKS
- Manage cluster upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and resilience
- Work with developers to support container deployments and releases
- Support multiple customer environments within an MSP operating model
- Troubleshoot hosting and application platform issues
- Participate in planned changes, releases, and occasional out-of-hours maintenance
- Maintain clear documentation and contribute to service improvements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly for website and application hosting
- Strong experience using Terraform and/or Ansible for Infrastructure as Code
- Experience configuring and supporting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Good understanding of containerised workloads for web and mobile applications
- Strong Linux skills (especially Debian/Ubuntu-based systems)
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts (VNets, load balancers, gateways)
- Management and configuration of Linux Servers (especially Debian-based)
- Microsoft 365 (inc. Entra, Intune, Exchange Online, Defender)
- Networking technologies (Switches, Firewalls, ZTNA solutions)
- Cloud backups (eg Wasabi)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced MSP environment
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Self-motivated, delivery-focused, and comfortable owning platforms end-to-end
Desirable Skills
- Experience supporting workloads across multiple Azure tenants
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar)
- Experience with Azure Application Gateway or Azure Load Balancer
- Kubernetes experience beyond AKS (EKS, on-prem)
- Microsoft AZ-104 or higher certification
