Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT&T Test Engineer to support a high-profile, secure technology programme within a defence and national security environment. The successful candidate will provide hands-on engineering support across the full testing lifecycle, developing and executing verification, validation, interoperability, and compliance testing activities to support solution acceptance and operational readiness. This role will focus on the creation, execution, and reporting of test activities spanning infrastructure, security, identity management, interoperability, and information exchange capabilities within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute test scripts to support verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
- Support the development and execution of Validation and Verification (V&V) plans.
- Create functional, non-functional, integration, interoperability, and regression test scenarios.
- Execute testing across infrastructure, security, identity management, policy enforcement, and interoperability components.
- Conduct interoperability testing between multiple interconnected systems and services.
- Validate information-sharing capabilities, policy-based controls, auditability, and traceability requirements.
- Support testing of Identity and Access Management (IAM), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and trust services.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive test documentation including: Test Plans, Test Scripts, Test Procedures, Defect Reports, Test Reports, Evidence Packs.
- Capture, manage, and report defects, supporting investigation and root cause analysis activities.
- Support the installation, configuration, and validation of test and demonstration environments.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, security specialists, and delivery teams.
- Maintain test evidence to support assurance, compliance, acceptance, and audit requirements.
- Support compliance validation activities and stakeholder-witnessed demonstrations.
- Document test outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, tooling, and methodologies.
- Deliver testing activities in line with programme schedules, quality standards.
