Day Rate: Up to £650 p/d via Umbrella

We're embarking on a significant AI transformation programme that will redefine how secure software is developed, delivered and maintained across our organisation.
As a Senior AI Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and building AI-native applications that automate and enhance critical Information Security and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes. This is a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of agentic AI, helping deliver innovative solutions that have a measurable impact across the business.
Working within a highly skilled engineering team, you'll contribute to the design, development, deployment and continuous improvement of cutting-edge AI solutions powered by modern cloud and AI technologies.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing AI-native applications using Python and modern AI frameworks.
- Building intelligent, agent-based solutions that automate and optimise security and software engineering processes.
- Developing scalable solutions leveraging AWS, Bedrock, LangGraph and LangSmith.
- Contributing to solution design and technical decision-making within an established architecture.
- Collaborating with engineers, security specialists and stakeholders to deliver high-quality AI solutions.
- Driving engineering best practices across application development, testing and deployment.
- Supporting the continuous evolution of our AI capabilities through research, experimentation and innovation.
- Contributing to backlog refinement, technical planning and delivery activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience developing software applications in Python.
- Hands-on experience building AI or LLM-powered applications.
- Good understanding of:
- Agentic AI frameworks
- Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- AI application design patterns
- Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including:
- Application architecture and design
- CI/CD pipelines
- Testing and deployment best practices
- Secure software development principles
- Ability to contribute to technical design discussions and solution development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, LangGraph and/or LangSmith.
- Frontend development experience.
- Exposure to Information Security or secure software development environments.
- Experience working on AI transformation, automation or productivity-focused initiatives.
- Knowledge of low-level architecture and system design principles.
