Located in the Cotswold, Cowley Manor is one of the most famous buildings in the country. The luxury boutique hotel is composed of 31 rooms, a bar and a restaurant along with an incredible terrace, fantastic grounds and a stunning C-Side Spa.
We are looking for an Assistant Hotel Manager to join and challenge our dynamic team! You will be responsible for various operational matters and support the General Manager in their daily tasks. Together, you will lead and coordinate the hotel's activities with a special focus on guest and team satisfaction. In the absence of the General Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the hotel, decision making and the application of group standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Operational Supervision: Propose rapid and well-thought-out solutions in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Ensure good communication between departments, delegate tasks to managers and follow up. Ensure adherence to group policies and established operating procedures. Participate in weekly meetings with the Front Office Manager, Reservation Manager, and the Housekeeping Manager to review team and operational matters. Train team on Opera. Ensure good functioning of the hotel, being proactive on maintenance, and main contact for maintenance manager. Assist teams of each department as needed such as covering reception and overseeing Housekeeping when the Housekeeping Manager is off. Participate in all partner or supplier meetings and weekly meetings with Hotel HODs. Assist GM in overall financial budgets and targets including cost control and optimisation measures, P&L and revenue meetings. Review rotas alongside GM, ensuring they adhere to budget and business needs. Participate in weekly Duty Management Rota.
- Guest Experience: Ensure the services delivered are always in line with the Experimental's standards. In cooperation with the General Manager, handle and provide adequate solutions to complaints, team issues, and general hotel issues. Monitor guests' feedback on all platforms, share them with the team and implement actions. Help support FOM with any guest issues.
- Human Resources Supervision: In coordination with the General Manager: Communicate all HR and operational needs to the People Team. Support in the recruitment of hotel staff, review JDs, conduct regular training, and review staff hours as needed. Communicate all the HR information needed to the People Team and complete all required paperwork. Support and coordinate the on-site inductions. Participate in the creation of a positive work environment, ensuring high employee engagement and optimising employee retention. Work to resolve staff complaints, support the team in resolving disputes.
- Reporting & Admin: Support the General Manager with admin tasks and Health & Safety compliance. Participate in the admin tasks such as regular reporting, management of inventory, orders, and purchases. Be the link between the operations and the accounting department to ensure the processes are respected. Be responsible for all cash-related tasks.
