Could you give just one hour to support a vulnerable young person in Guildford?

The award-winning charity MCR Pathways is looking for Volunteer Mentors to give just 1 hour a week, term time only, to support a young person in Kings College School, Christ’s College School, and Ash Manor School.

An hour a week can have a lifetime of impact on a young person facing challenges. You don\’t need to be an expert, just caring and willing to make a difference. You will be carefully matched with a young person based on shared experiences, hobbies, personality, etc., and support them to build confidence, instill belief, awaken ambition, and expand future horizons.

As a volunteer mentor, you will be a reliable and consistent trusted adult:

  • To believe in them and offer support and encouragement
  • To listen to them
  • To help them succeed
  • To guide them
  • Someone they can count on
  • Someone who’ll always be there

Teenage years are crucial in shaping future choices. Young people facing challenges need someone they can trust and turn to, so they don’t have to make these decisions alone.

This is a great opportunity to develop new skills, receive excellent mentor training, and give back to the local community in Guildford. You must be over 21, and MCR will complete a DBS check. The commitment is for a minimum of 1 year of mentoring.
