We are looking for an experienced retail manager to join our Vapestore in central Guildford. The successful candidate will maximise retail sales and profit and build a motivated team through effective leadership and training. Full time working hours are 40.5 hrs per week, 5 days per week, Monday to Sunday; the role will include weekend working (including Friday, Saturday and Sunday), but not every day with a day off on another day of the week, so flexibility is crucial to the success of this role.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Build an effective, customer-focused and sales driven team
- Work with the Cluster Manager with the recruitment and development of new team members, including the screening and interviewing of candidates
- Develop and build good customer relationships in the area using effective marketing methods to attract and retain those customers
- Effectively communicate daily and weekly targets and KPIs to team members
- Ensure the store is kept clean, neat, tidy and welcoming to customers
- Lead by example by delivering exceptional service to all customers that visit the store
- Take on feedback professionally from customers and report back to the Cluster Manager
- Coach and develop team members to enhance their performance
- Ensure all policies and procedures relating to Security, Health & Safety and GDPR are made visible, available and understood by staff to minimise risk to staff members and the business
- With support from the Cluster Manager, complete staff 1-1's, setting performance development plans and KPIs
- Support the aims and ethos of Vapouriz, setting a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality and attendance
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of Vapouriz and the business as a whole
- Undertake any other tasks which can be reasonably expected in relation to the role
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous retail management experience gained within a sales-driven environment to exceed sales targets
- A keen vaper with an interest in the vaping industry, whilst not essential, would certainly help the candidate when engaging with customers, training staff, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- An analytical mind and a good problem solver
- A positive and responsible attitude with a flexible approach to working hours
- Good organisation and time management skills
