Job Description
The Economics Team: The economist will join a group of 12 economists and econometricians working across a wide variety of economics and credit risk services and consultancy. This team specialises in model-driven forecasts and analysis for the UK's economy, credit markets, regions, sectors and socio-demographic segments.
What you will be doing as Senior Economist
- Undertake robust and rigorous economic analysis of the UK economy.
- Manage consultancy projects and lead on key products within the team.
- Work with our clients, Experian sales and market consultants to determine what the client wants to achieve.
- Help develop new business opportunities and build compelling solutions that resonate with clients and inform their decision makers.
- Regularly communicate verbally and in written reports solutions and business benefits to clients, including the ability to explain economic concepts and results, as well as their implications, to non-specialists.
Qualifications
- Ideally MSc or a strong degree in Economics, Econometrics or related discipline.
- Experience (5+ years) working as a professional economist.
- Proven experience of client-facing work and a track record of leading, shaping, and delivering projects.
- Effective project management skills and ability to prioritise, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
- Producing written research, methodology notes etc and presenting research to clients in a variety of contexts including conferences and meetings, with the ability to communicate to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
- Strong communication skills, personal drive/ambition and an agile, flexible approach.
- Provide support & training to the team's economists.
- Advantageous to have experience working with R, Python or similar.
- Familiarity with UK data and analysis of any of the following would be desirable: UK regions/local areas, credit markets and the housing market.
