We are looking for an enthusiastic Lead Software Engineer to work at the forefront of our cloud modernisation, within our Credit & Verification Services. This is a hybrid role requiring travelling to Nottingham / London office circa 40% per month reporting into our Engineering Director.
This is an incredibly exciting time for the Experian UKI Region, as we look to build our presence in the UK and Hyderabad and work on a technology transformation to meet our aspiration to scale our business over the next five years. Credit and Verification Services comprises nearly 100 engineering teams who deliver over 200 products achieving significant revenue per annum for our UK Business.
We're predominantly a .NET focused engineering team, building modern, cloud-native applications using the latest in .NET 8+. All new services are developed with a forward-looking mindset, and we evaluate latest features and tools to continuously improve our engineering practices. Our architecture is built on Kubernetes (EKS), allowing us to run scalable, resilient microservices in the cloud (AWS).
Main Responsibilities:
- You will provide high-quality software solutions within agreed timelines, ensuring alignment with business requirements and Agile principles.
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for high-quality software solutions.
- Take ownership of the overall technical architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of the software systems.
- Champion the adoption of best practices in software development, including clean code, maintainability, efficient coding standards, and DevSecOps practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members.
- Manage technical risks and issues, proactively identifying potential challenges and developing mitigation strategies.
- Provide clear and concise documentation for code, processes, and system architecture.
- Mentor senior and junior developers, providing technical expertise and code reviews.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with .NET 6+ or .NET Core or .NET Framework building scalable REST/SOAP/RPC APIs with proficiency in C#.
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application development, deployment, and orchestration.
- Experience leading large software teams.
- Able to articulate complex ideas, solutions, and feedback to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building secure, mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based software systems, in regulated environments.
