Job Description

The Marketing Director is a high profile and influential role, which is pivotal to the future success of the organization as it enters into a phase of accelerated organic and inorganic growth. The role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer, and manages a team of 30+ FTEs over several geographies.

Overall, the EMEA & APAC Marketing Director is responsible for 6 key objectives:

  1. Positioning Experian as the clear market leader in its sector through all Marketing and Communications channel from organic to paid and earned channels.
  2. Driving accelerated growth through high-quality lead generation programs, and customer advocacy through effective nurture programs
  3. Strategic development of B2B value proposition, and associated product & proposition marketing
  4. Delivery of effective channel training & enablement program
  5. Marketing integration and rebranding of inorganic investments
  6. Ensuring optimal utilization of marketing budgets, team and resources

The role is therefore responsible for managing all aspects of planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies, integrated marketing plans, and corporate communications activities across Experian\'s EMEA & APAC footprint. It also oversees the development and implementation of all client-facing sales and marketing materials, manages marketing services & infrastructure (e.g. digital, CMS, events, eDM platform), directs the efforts of the marketing team (central teams & in-country field marketing) and is responsible for the region\'s corporate communication strategy.

The role will be intellectually stimulating providing a great chance to make a direct impact on the bottom-line performance of the business. The position will combine all elements of B2B marketing (content development, product marketing, marketing campaigns, lead generation, online marketing, events and PR) and corporate communications, drawing on both proven strategic and operational skills.

Extensive marketing experience, strategic and commercial outlook, attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in an international matrix organization (and particularly with sales) are instrumental for success in this role. Previous experience of Big Data solutions and/or high-end B2B services and/or banking / financial services / Telco would be greatly advantageous.

Primary Accountabilities

Responsibility for Regional Thought-Leadership, content strategy & delivery:

  • Thought-leadership program (articles, whitepapers, reports, etc.)
  • Reference / case study program
  • Partnerships with Industry Associations

Responsibility for Regional Product Marketing, supporting the Head of Product Propositions and Marketing on regional initiatives including the following:

  • Development of marketing messaging & positioning for all product lines
  • Creation of client-facing content to support sales - brochures, FAQs, whitepapers, sales PPTs etc
  • Delivery of integrated product marketing plans - content, timing, sales & marketing mobilization, PR etc.

Responsibility for Regional Lead-Generation:

  • Work closely with the sales teams to devise & implement a scalable and effective end-to-end lead generation process.
  • Plan and execute effective vertical-sector campaigns across for all territories in close collaboration with Country Marketing teams.
  • Develop metrics for measurement & reporting on campaign effectiveness.

Accountability for country-specific marketing plans (e.g. new markets):

  • Work with local Marketing teams to define the country marketing plan to increase market awareness and/or support specific sales activities.

Responsibility for overall marketing platform and Digital Strategy, supporting the Head of Digital Marketing EMEA & APAC on Digital initiatives including the following:

  • eDM platform strategy & development
  • Websites - increased traffic, usability, lead capture and engagement.
  • Social media / social marketing programmes
  • Online marketing campaigns
  • SEO including link building and keyword research
  • Creation & delivery of Digital comms - Newsletters, alerts, blogs etc.

Responsibility for Regional Events:

  • Ownership of regional conference calendar & corporate hospitality calendar
  • E2E delivery of regional events, including coordinating sales & marketing teams to ensure full alignment on objectives, strategy, delivery plan
  • Liaison with suppliers / agencies & event organizers
  • Evaluate post-event results to drive continuous improvement in the company event strategy.

Responsibility for Corporate Communications (internal and external):

  • Collaborate and support as required all communications strategies and activities in conjunction with the Head of Corporate Communications function to deliver integrated Marketing and Communications by identifying synergies and amplifying the value of each activity across channels.

Overall responsibility for Budget Management.

  • Track and oversee management of overall marketing budget.

Qualifications

  • Degree educated
  • Ability to work effectively with sales teams
  • Prioritisation based on sound commercial judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interface and influence at all levels within an international business.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Professional qualification in marketing
  • 10+ years B2B marketing experience (Corporate Market) across all marketing disciplines (online, print, collateral, comms etc.)
  • 5+ years international marketing experience, preferably with knowledge of the EMEA and/or APAC region
  • 5+ years team management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of running successful B2B thought-leadership programs.
  • Experience of working within a matrix organization within a multi-national company
  • Experience managing marketing / PR agencies.
  • Experience in Budget and supplier management
  • Experience in delivery of Offline marketing activities
  • Experience in B2B technology / services sectors
