We are looking for a Lead Design System Designer to join Experian and shape the future of our Design System, Nebula. You will collaboratively define and deliver the vision, strategy and roadmap; ensuring a consistent, scalable and high quality user experience across our products. As a senior member of the wider Product Design team, you will guide how teams adopt and evolve shared patterns. Reporting into the Head of Product Design, you will foster collaboration, creativity and cohesion across our digital experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive the adoption, strategy and growth of our design system - sharing progress and updates with stakeholders.
- Lead the design and implementation of Nebula's visual language, including typography, color, iconography, and componentry, along with the tools, resources, and documentation to support the system.
- Ensure all UI components align with our brand direction.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and the latest iOS and Android guidelines.
- Conduct end-to-end audits of our UI and design system to identify gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Run retrospectives with designers, engineers and stakeholders to improve contribution models and system usability.
- With the head of Design, conduct regular design reviews with team members to identify successes, challenges, perspectives, and preferences.
- Champion a strong design culture, providing opportunities for guild members to drive and lead system aspects.
- Identify ways to streamline workflows and improve quality by staying up to date with emerging tech and genAI capabilities.
Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your impact in building, evolving or scaling a design system, showcasing UI craft, systems thinking and collaboration across disciplines.
- Extensive experience in product design, leading design systems at scale for both web and app environments.
- Lead and influence - comfortable driving alignment across product, design and engineering teams.
- Expert in Figma and familiar with the latest in DS tooling and workflows.
- Attention to detail; you sweat the small stuff. Pixels matter as much as the bigger picture.
