Experian Global Security Office are looking for a Data Engineer who will be responsible for quality delivery of analytic data services. Your work will focus on the development, automation and building of transformation routines to support our Security Metrics function who deliver security analytics to our internal business. You will apply policies and business rules which ensure that both point-in-time data and trending data is available for reporting. The engineer will help secure storage, query, protection, and use of data and will meet agreed availability levels. You will implement error detection, data quality checks, performance management and operational error alerting. This is a Hybrid, Nottingham based role (40% in the office) reporting to the Lead Data Security Engineer.
Role Responsibilities
- Design and run extract, transform, load (ETL) processes to bring in data from security tooling and other corporate data sources into a standardized and normalized data structure using a variety of tools such as Python, Alteryx, AWS Glue, SQL or other data management responsibilities for use in Security Metrics.
- Develop data pipelines, data warehouses and reporting frameworks.
- Use query languages such as SQL (structured query language) to provide information for security metrics and reporting.
- Understand data infrastructure requirements and data formats (e.g. JSON, XML and CSV) and connectivity (e.g. SQL queries and stored procedures).
Qualifications
- Python for data transformation and task automation.
- AWS Glue, Athena, AWS RDS, MS SQL and Cloud Native Data Management with AI in Security functions.
- Understanding of common BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Excel (can perform complex functions).
- Working knowledge of ITIL incident management, service-level management, change management, release management and availability management for databases and data management systems.
