As the Senior Digital Tracking & Ad Tech Manager, you will be setting the strategic direction, management, implementation and continuous improvement of the technology layer that supports Experian’s Performance Marketing team, particularly acquisition activities that drive new customer growth. You will own tracking, tagging, platform integrations, app attribution, ad operations governance and technical enablement, ensuring the right foundations are in place for effective campaign execution and measurement across web and app channels, while horizon-scanning for regulatory, privacy and platform shifts that will shape the future measurement approach. Reporting into the Head of Performance Media, you will operate as a partner to the Web Team, Data and Analytics, Engineering, influencing wider martech and data infrastructure investment decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Own the ad tech capability that supports paid media activation across web and app channels.
- Set the strategic direction and roadmap for tracking, platform integrations, ad operations infrastructure, and measurement enablement, influencing wider martech and data investment decisions.
- Own the implementation and governance of tracking across all paid media channels and platforms - ensuring tags, pixels, UTMs, events, and conversion frameworks are set up consistently and accurately.
- Lead tag management across Ensighten, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and server-side GTM (sGTM) - including the migration from Ensighten to GTM/sGTM.
- Own integrations between media platforms, analytics tools, attribution providers and internal systems.
- Lead implementation of server-to-server connections, API-based integrations and platform data flows where required.
- Reduction in tracking discrepancies and measurement incidents (frequency and severity) across web and app.
- On-time delivery of the tracking/ad tech roadmap, including the Ensighten to GTM/sGTM migration.
- Own governance for campaign setup standards, taxonomy, naming conventions and account hygiene.
- Define and maintain ad operations processes that ensure campaigns are launched accurately and efficiently.
Experience and Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in ad tech, ad operations, tagging, and tracking, with experience working with a tag management system - Ensighten, GTM, or equivalent - including data layer implementation and governance.
- Working knowledge of server-side GTM (sGTM) - you understand the architecture, can implement it, and know why it matters for first-party data and consent compliance.
- Strong knowledge of tagging, pixels, UTMs, conversion tracking, and measurement principles across paid media platforms, with a good understanding of paid media platforms and how tracking works within them - Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, GMP (DV360, CM360, SA360).
- Experience with web and app attribution - including a mobile measurement partner such as Appsflyer.
- Experience with platform integrations, API-based data flows, and server-to-server connections (CAPI, Events API, or similar).
- Experience owning governance for campaign setup standards, taxonomy, naming conventions, and QA processes.
- Comfortable working across media, analytics, and technology stakeholders - translating technical requirements into practical solutions with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and shape strategic direction without formal authority.
- Experience of vendor/commercial negotiation and managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to read and write JavaScript to a level sufficient for data layer debugging and tag configuration.
