We are seeking an iGaming Quality Engineer to join our team on a contractual basis. The role is fully remote, with occasional travel required to our headquarters in Málaga, Spain. Candidates must operate through a fully registered limited company.
THE ROLE
We build slot games played by millions — and we need someone who can break them before our players do. As an iGaming Quality Engineer, you'll be embedded directly in game development squads, owning quality across the full lifecycle of Game Development: from early playability reviews and math verification to cross-browser regression suites and live certification sign-off. You'll work at the intersection of game design, frontend engineering, and regulatory compliance — ensuring every spin, every win animation, every bonus trigger is pixel-perfect, mathematically sound with the correct payment accuracy, and jurisdiction-ready.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and execute test strategies for slot games and other casino product lines, covering core mechanic loops, free spins, cascades, bonus buys, and progressive jackpots.
- Verify frontend RNG output against certified math models, validating pay tables, RTP values, hit frequencies, and volatility bands.
- Build and maintain automated regression suites using Playwright or Cypress targeting critical game-state flows, ensuring rapid feedback on every build.
- Conduct cross-device and cross-browser testing (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, mobile iOS/Android), documenting rendering defects and frame-rate regressions.
- Collaborate with artists and animators to validate Spine/PixiJS animations, transition states, and audio sync across game events.
- Support regulatory certification testing for MGA and other jurisdictions — preparing evidence packs and liaising with labs.
- Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines; define pass/fail criteria for automated smoke, sanity, and performance checks on every merge.
- Participate in design reviews and sprint planning, raising testability concerns early and contributing to definition-of-done standards across squads.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in iGaming is required for this role.
- Core QE: Test planning, Bug lifecycle, Regression suites, Root cause analysis, Risk-based testing.
- Frontend: JavaScript / TypeScript, PixiJS, Chrome DevTools, Browser profiling.
- Automation: Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), API mocking.
- iGaming Domain: Slot math basics, RTP / RNG concepts, Bonus mechanics.
- Practices: BDD, TDD, API testing.
NICE TO HAVES
- Scripting bonus simulations or RTP verification tools in Python or Node.js.
- Knowledge of responsible gambling UX requirements and in-game safeguard features.
- Previous work in a regulated gambling, fintech, or payments QE environment.
WHO YOU ARE
- A player at heart — you think about quality from the player's perspective first, not just the ticket tracker.
- Methodical and detail-obsessed: a misaligned win frame or a one-frame audio stutter bothers you the same way a logic bug does.
- Collaborative by nature — you thrive working closely with developers, artists, producers, and compliance teams without silos.
- Comfortable with ambiguity in early-stage game development, able to adapt test plans as designs evolve mid-sprint.
- A clear communicator who writes sharp bug reports and gives focused, constructive feedback in design reviews.
