Job Description
- Receive goods and check freight for correct quantity, quality, and possible damages
- Pick, check, and load pallets for outgoing freight
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift
- Create OSD reports and ensure correct completion
- Check cargo manifests
- Perform double checks on freight, ULDs, references, and AWB numbers
- Perform Dangerous Goods and Lithium checks (if certified in IATA DG)
- Build and break down ULDs as needed
- Adhere to security and compliance rules set by Expeditors
- Ensure a safe work environment
- Meet KPI standards according to company procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of work and transport areas
- Comply with internal and external regulations, including government laws
- Escalate issues to management when necessary
- Interact effectively with agents: cargo, airline, TSA, CBP, providing instructions and responses
- Understand responsibilities in Expeditors\β contingency plan
- Maintain security under TSA, USCBP, and airport police regulations
- Implement security measures when encountering unauthorized persons in secure areas
Work Schedule
Swing Shift, Monday β Friday, with hours depending on customer needs:
- 2:00 PM β 10:30 PM
- 2:30 PM β 11:00 PM
- 3:00 PM β 11:30 PM
Qualifications & Physical Demands
- Lift and carry freight up to 75 lbs with proper techniques
- Perform physical movements like bending, reaching, squatting, standing, walking
- Work in noisy environments and cold storage if required
- Stand for extended periods
- Work irregular hours, including holidays, weekends, overtime
- Fluent in English
- Possess visual and mental skills for identification and observation
- Provide good customer service and be dependable
- Basic arithmetic and knowledge of airline codes and cargo abbreviations
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Work effectively in a team
- Obtain forklift and Dangerous Goods certifications as required
