At Expedia Group, performance is product quality. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager, Performance to define and lead the strategy for improving user-perceived performance across our traveler facing experiences, while building the systems, operating model, and guardrails needed to prevent regressions before they reach travelers.

In this role, you will partner across engineering, architecture, product, UX, analytics, experimentation, and platform teams to make performance measurable, actionable, and durable. You will own the product vision and roadmap for performance across web and app, balancing near-term experience improvements with longer-term investments in instrumentation, diagnostics, release protections, and performance-by-default product development practices.

You will help Expedia Group deliver faster, more stable, and more resilient experiences for travelers by ensuring teams can understand performance, prioritize the right improvements, and prevent degradation at scale.

What you will do:

  • Define and drive the product strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for performance across web and native app experiences.
  • Establish a clear performance product vision spanning page and screen load speed, interaction responsiveness, visual stability, reliability of measurement, and degradation prevention.
  • Partner with engineering and architecture leaders to identify and prioritize platform and product investments that improve performance at scale.
  • Own the performance measurement framework across web and app, including headline metrics, driver metrics, and guardrail metrics that help teams make better prioritization decisions.
  • Lead discovery across stakeholder groups to identify root causes of poor user experience, quantify business impact, and translate findings into roadmap priorities.
  • Drive adoption of performance standards, budgets, and release guardrails that reduce regressions and improve consistency across teams.
  • Shape the operating model for performance reviews, regression triage, escalation paths, and accountability for remediation.
  • Partner with experimentation and analytics teams to evaluate how product, content, and feature changes affect performance and traveler outcomes.
  • Collaborate with teams responsible for observability, monitoring, and developer tooling to improve visibility into performance bottlenecks and degradations.
  • Influence roadmaps across multiple product and platform teams without direct authority, aligning leaders on shared goals, sequencing, and trade-offs.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for performance strategy, progress, and outcomes with senior stakeholders across Product and Technology.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Experience defining product strategy, roadmaps, success metrics, and measurable outcomes for platform products or highly technical product domains.
  • Experience owning products through discovery, prioritization, delivery, adoption, and ongoing optimization.
  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across multiple product, engineering, and platform teams, influencing roadmaps and driving alignment without direct authority.
  • Strong technical product management experience, with the ability to partner closely with engineering teams on complex technical challenges.
  • Deep understanding of web and/or mobile application performance, including performance measurement, observability, monitoring, diagnostics, release protections, and performance regression prevention.
  • Experience using data, analytics, experimentation, and customer insights to evaluate impact and make informed product decisions and trade-offs.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups in a global organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in application performance, developer productivity, platform products, infrastructure, developer tools, or similarly technical domains.
  • Experience establishing performance standards, budgets, guardrails, governance models, escalation processes, and accountability mechanisms across multiple teams.
  • Experience building frameworks, playbooks, or operating models that drive quality, reliability, and performance improvements at scale.
  • Experience working on data-intensive products and translating complex technical metrics into actionable product insights.
  • Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or prior hands-on software development experience.
  • Proven track record of taking products from concept through scaled adoption and measurable business impact.
  • Experience using experimentation and analytics to understand how product and feature changes affect customer experience and business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven products, tools, or workflows, including experience identifying opportunities to apply AI/ML capabilities to solve customer or business problems.
