Internship Program Expedia Group’s 2026 Global Summer Internship Program as a Software Development Engineer Intern offers an inclusive experience with tailored learning and training, ongoing support, and intern-specific events to build knowledge and community. You’ll fully integrate into our inclusive community and contribute to business-critical projects.

Our Engineering Roles Expedia Group has multiple engineering specializations. You will have the opportunity to express interest in any of these during the application process. Current listed specialization:

  • Software Development - Design and launch Front End, Back End, and Full Stack solutions impacting critical business systems.
  • Machine Learning Engineering - Build ML systems with CD/CI and code stability; productionize ML models.

In This Role You Will

  • Leverage technical skills in an agile environment to develop next-generation technologies via web applications and e-commerce sites; create high-volume, scalable solutions; collaborate with teams to iterate quickly; work across backend, databases, and frontend interfaces for 140+ branded travel sites.
  • Collaborate with your team and mentor; connect with your manager for questions.
  • Use common developer tools (e.g., GitHub, IDEs) with assistance as needed.
  • Demonstrate learning in software engineering concepts, design principles, algorithms, and code composition; understand business reasons behind features or projects.
  • Engage with teammates to understand a team’s design components; respond to queries via approved tools (email, Slack, Excel, etc.).
  • Expand coding abilities by learning new tools and languages; work in a fast-paced environment to produce high-quality software.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be available to commit to the full program dates: June 22 – August 28, 2026.
  • Must be graduating with an undergraduate or integrated master’s degree in a technical subject (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) between December 2026 and July 2027.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the city of job location if outside commuting distance.
  • Must commit to full-time hours every week.
  • Must be graduating from university in the same country as the internship location.
  • Must have no more than 2 years of professional experience in a similar role.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, C#).
  • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and OOP concepts.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with a variety of partners (internal, external, technical, non-technical).
