Director, Product Management – Rapid API – New Lines of Business

Expedia Group B2B is the engine behind thousands of global travel partnerships — powering OTAs, airlines, loyalty programmes, travel management companies, and enterprise platforms with access to the world’s most comprehensive travel inventory. As the world’s largest B2B travel solutions provider, we work with partners in over 33 countries to turn their platforms into seamless travel experiences for their customers.

If you’re a Director of Product Management who is excited to shape the API strategy for entirely new lines of business — and to lead a talented team doing it — we’d love to talk.

We are looking for a Director, Product Management to lead the Rapid API product strategy across four high‑growth verticals: Vrbo (vacation rentals), Car, Activities & Experiences, and Ground Transportation. You will manage a team of four Product Managers, each owning a distinct API product domain, while working cross‑functionally to build developer‑first integrations that unlock new revenue streams and deepen partner engagement at scale.

What you’ll do:

  • You will define and own the multi‑year product roadmap for Rapid APIs across Vrbo, Car, Activities, and Ground Transportation, aligning to EG’s B2B growth strategy and partner demand signals.
  • You will directly manage four Product Managers — each responsible for a dedicated API domain (Vrbo, Car, Activities, and Ground Transportation) — providing coaching, career development, and clear accountability frameworks.
  • You will develop close relationships with key B2B partners to understand their needs, participating in QBRs, API design reviews, and escalations for tier‑1 accounts.
  • You will work together with your engineering teams to oversee end‑to‑end API delivery — from discovery and API design through to launch, partner onboarding, and lifecycle management.
  • You will build great relationships with Business Development, Partner Success, Engineering, and commercial teams to translate partner needs into sequenced, impactful product bets.
  • You will work with our analytics team to define and track success metrics — partner adoption, Gross Booking Value, API reliability — and hold the team accountable to measurable outcomes.
  • You will identify new API monetisation opportunities across emerging lines of business, working with Business Development and Finance to build the commercial case.
  • You will care deeply about your products, advocate for them with senior leadership, and champion a high‑ownership, outcomes‑oriented culture within your team.

Who you are:

  • You have 10+ years of B2B product management experience, preferably in the travel industry.
  • You have 7+ years’ experience working on API or platform products, with a deep understanding of RESTful / GraphQL API design and developer experience.
  • You have 5+ years’ people management experience, including hiring, coaching, and developing Product Managers.
  • You are excited by the accountability that comes with leading a large, multi‑vertical portfolio of API products and a team of Product Managers.
  • You have outstanding influencing skills, including experience working within a large, globally distributed matrix organisation.
  • You speak knowledgeably with engineers about a problem space, can communicate user stories, and know how to build products incrementally.
  • You can identify the best business opportunities across Vrbo, Car, Activities, and Ground Transportation verticals, make clear prioritisation calls, and devise a compelling strategy.

Sound like a job you’d like to learn more about? Get in touch — we’d love to talk with you. This job will be based in our London office.
