Role Overview The Director of Strategy will lead efforts to drive targeted demand generation across endemic verticals (Hotels, Trip Suppliers, Destination Marketing Organizations, Vacation Rentals) and expand into new non-endemic categories. This role is pivotal in shaping commercial strategies that accelerate advertiser acquisition, supply adoption, and activation of untapped budgets from non-endemic advertisers.
Key Responsibilities
- Advertiser Acquisition & Growth: Develop and execute strategies to identify, engage, and onboard new advertisers across key endemic verticals. Build scalable frameworks for advertiser growth and retention.
- Ad Supply Adoption Acceleration: Partner with commercial and product teams to increase ad product adoption among existing supply partners. Design clear commercial motions and simplify buying processes to drive usage and revenue growth.
- Non-Endemic Activation: Establish credibility with agencies and non-endemic advertisers to unlock multi-client opportunities. Create go-to-market strategies that position the platform as a trusted partner for new categories.
- Strategic Planning & Insights: Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and performance data to inform strategy. Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships to align initiatives.
- Leadership & Influence: Serve as a thought leader internally and externally, representing the company at industry events. Mentor and guide teams to deliver against strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in advertising strategy, demand generation, or related fields.
- Proven track record in advertiser acquisition, agency engagement, and vertical expansion.
- Strong understanding of endemic travel categories and non-endemic advertising opportunities.
- Expertise in programmatic advertising, media planning, and commercial strategy.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
The total cash range for this position in Austin is $207,500.00 to $290,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $332,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
