Are you passionate about bringing brand strategies to life? Are you driven to deliver retail promotions to create business growth? We are looking for a Brand Expedia & Portfolio Merchandising Director to help us deliver amazing promotions and experiences for our Expedia & Portfolio customers. This role can be based in either Austin, Dallas, London, or Seattle offices and reports to the Sr Director Business Operations, Brand Expedia & Portfolio.
In this role, you will:
- Global/Local merchandising strategy: Lead our global and local strategy for Brand Expedia and our Portfolio brand sales and merchandising calendar across our lines of business including hotels, vacation rentals, air, packages and car.
- Merchandising promotions: Analyze and size business merchandising opportunities leveraging multiple levers including couponing, promotions, and loyalty points.
- Traveler segment merchandising: Leverage data to define and personalize merchandising for key traveler segments.
- Merchandising execution: Lead and support the execution of traveler promotions on Expedia and Portfolio brands, coordinating implementation across Marketing, Product, Traveler Business Operations, Legal, and Finance. Ensure timely implementation of our promotions to achieve peak performance, efficiency, and scalability.
- Merchandising measurement & retro: Work with analytics and the Traveler Business Operations team to review merchandising performance, incrementality and optimize based on learnings. Lead the retro of merchandising sales and campaigns across cross-functional teams and propose appropriate optimization action to improve future delivery.
- Test & Learn: Work with Product to develop test and learn cadence across our merchandising touchpoints.
- Homepage Governance: Lead homepage and landing page design and governance, working collaboratively with cross-functional partners in the business, marketing and product.
- Competitive & Industry benchmarking: Keep a pulse on and benchmark against the travel category, key competitors and best in class merchandising.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Marketing, Business Management, Economics), MBA Preferred.
- 1-2+ years of business management, B2C ecommerce, B2C strategy, and retail management/merchandising experience.
- Experience localizing global strategies for international markets.
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks and expertise with traffic data sources.
- Prior experience in project management within a B2C environment.
- Experience working with stakeholders from across multiple subject areas to prioritize and mitigate issues.
- Ability to manage merchandising for multiple lines of businesses and traveler segments.
- Strong business insight with an ability to anticipate risks and identify contingency plans to minimize business disruption.
- Ability to analyze performance.
- Communicates effectively, concisely, and tailored to the audience, honed listening skills.
- Resilient and constructive when faced with change, able to shift approaches when needed in response to unexpected events and circumstances.
