What You’ll Do

  • Develop, test, and support software components and services as part of a collaborative engineering team, helping deliver reliable solutions in production.
  • Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other partners to understand requirements, break down work, and deliver well‑scoped features and improvements.
  • Apply sound software engineering principles to write clean, maintainable, modular code with appropriate tests, observability, and documentation.
  • Contribute to services and APIs that operate at scale, with attention to performance, resilience, and long‑term maintainability.
  • Debug applications, investigate issues in production and non‑production environments, and follow through until problems are understood and resolved.
  • Participate in agile ways of working, share progress clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and use feedback to improve both your own work and the team’s overall effectiveness.
  • Help identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement in existing systems, and contribute practical ideas that raise engineering quality over time.
  • Collaborate across team boundaries when needed to understand integrations, dependencies, and how your team’s systems fit into the wider business and technical landscape.

Experience And Qualifications

  • You have solid general programming skills and a good grounding in software engineering fundamentals, including object‑oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and clean coding practices.
  • You have professional experience building software in a team environment and are comfortable working with modern engineering practices such as version control, code reviews, testing, and iterative delivery.
  • You have experience building, maintaining, or supporting applications in production, ideally in cloud‑based environments such as AWS.
  • You are comfortable working within moderately complex systems and can understand how services, APIs, data stores, and integrations fit together within a broader platform.
  • You take ownership of your work, test and monitor your own changes, and care about building solutions that are reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
  • You are a strong collaborator who works well with teammates and stakeholders, reaches out proactively when needed, and helps move work forward in a constructive way.
  • You are curious and motivated to keep learning, whether that means deepening your technical skills, understanding the business context better, or picking up new technologies quickly.
  • You are comfortable speaking up, asking challenging questions, and constructively defending your views when it helps the team arrive at a better solution.
  • Experience with JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin is helpful, and experience with distributed systems, high‑volume applications, or service‑based architectures would be a strong advantage.
