The Product Team creates high-quality end-to-end experiences for travelers, partners, and Expedia Group. As a Senior UX Designer at Hotels.com, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping world-class user experiences for one of our flagship brands. Working as an integral part of our product and technology organization, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including brand, marketing, and design systems to evolve and elevate the Hotels.com product experience.

Your focus will be on crafting high-quality, visually engaging experiences that connect with both business and leisure travelers. With a strong emphasis on design craft and a sharp eye for visual detail, you’ll help elevate the brand across the entire user journey. By championing simplicity, innovation, and consistency, you’ll shape how the brand comes to life across digital touchpoints—making it easier, more intuitive, and more enjoyable for users to book their next trip.

Senior UX Designer – Hotels.com (Visual Design & Brand Systems)

In this role, you will:

Problem Definition and Product Strategy:

  • Expert in a range of methods for facilitating the gathering and synthesizing of diverse insights in complex, ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Build and drive compelling customer experience vision, strategy, and success metrics at the program level.

Ideation and Visualization:

  • Expertly facilitate idea generation and evaluation with stakeholders, and mentor others in doing the same.
  • Role model and mentor for exemplary visual and interaction design practice.
  • Champion simple, elegant experiences and foster a culture of excellence in design execution.

Systems Thinking:

  • Facilitate collaboration with different stakeholders with varied perspectives and strive for optimum organizational efficiency by aligning goals across boundaries and making recommendations about changes/approaches.
  • Take a whole systems approach to analyze customer problems and implement holistic solutions by ensuring that linkages between customer touchpoints, structure, process, and technology are made.
  • Define foundational layers of the design system.
  • Guide the design of components, patterns, and drive optimizations for flexibility, re-use, usability, performance, brand distinction, and visual appeal.
  • Apply advanced concepts around modularity, reusability, progressive enhancement, browser fallbacks, and state and conditional logic.

Communication and Presentation:

  • Develop persuasive communication materials and storytelling techniques that build trust with partners and establish long-term relationships.
  • Model effective use of design feedback.
  • Guide others on best practices and approaches for clear, concise, and organized communication.

Customer Centricity:

  • Apply and adapt design and research processes to manage large/complex problem areas.
  • Use both qualitative and quantitative insights of customer research and data and business analytics to drive design solutions.
  • Consistently create solutions that match customer needs and problems.

Minimum experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Graphic Design, or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • 8+ years of experience in UX design, preferably in a product-driven environment
  • Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design skills and systematic thinking
  • Strong experience working with and contributing to design systems
  • Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative, agile environment
  • Experience in the travel or e-commerce industry is a plus
  • Experience with responsive web design and mobile app design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for concept generation and prototyping
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with data-driven design and A/B testing
