The Globalization team is key in enabling Expedia Group’s international growth by adapting EG’s products, brands and services across the world, delivering a great experience to both travellers and partners alike, at scale.

We are currently looking for an experienced Language Experience Solutions Manager to oversee the development and implementation of language-related strategies and solutions across the different global markets, to ensure a cohesive quality of the user experience at scale. The Solutions Manager works closely with the Regional Managers and relevant stakeholders to ensure the programs align with the business needs, complement each other and are effectively supported by our team of Language Managers and vendors.

This role will be based in the London (UK), Cancun, Sydney or Montreal office and will work closely with teams and stakeholders in EMEA, the US, Canada, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive the strategy on global initiatives that enhance the language experience for our global users, across all languages, such as developing and maintaining a comprehensive reference material package.
  • Develop a comprehensive and scalable solution to review live content and identify opportunities to enhance user experience across the different platforms and points of sale, through internal quality assurance mechanisms and external feedback sources.
  • Develop a competitive analysis programme to unlock opportunities to elevate user experience by identifying and understanding industry trends and best practices.
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive Language Experience GenAI strategy, in close collaboration with the Technical Operations team, ensuring the integration of advanced AI technologies into the Language Experience Management team’s processes, workflows and systems to drive efficiency and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate across teams and regions to ensure a cohesive, high-quality user experience.
  • Participate in UX design process, contributing insight into language and cultural nuances, and work with other LMs to gather market and language-specific feedback.
  • Drive the execution of projects from inception to post-deployment review.
  • Manage global projects and foster teamwork among LMs from different regions.
  • Function as a trusted advisor regarding relevant markets, business strategies and operating environments to both the business and individual team members.
  • Oversee the relevant budget needs and forecasting.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Strategic thinking and effective tasks prioritization skills to deliver results in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Good knowledge of translation tools, CMS and localization platforms, including translation and content automation (MT, LLMs).
  • Capable of planning, organizing and managing resources and activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe and standards.
  • Demonstrates the necessary knowledge of localization processes, linguistic standards and challenges linked to localization and internationalization processes, tools and standards and leverages this know-how to enhance the user experience.
  • Leverages technical knowledge of products to meet customer needs and understands market segments as well as market data trends.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of language quality evaluation processes.
  • Strong program management and analytical skills, good business acumen and adaptability.
  • Has good knowledge of latest trends in technology and quality management within the G11N industry.
  • Degree in Translation/Linguistics/Computational linguistics or equivalent relevant experience in the field of language experience, terminology, writing, translation memory management, and quality management at scale.
  • Previous experience working in a global environment and with globally distributed teams.
  • 5+ years for Bachelor’s, 3+ years for Master’s.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one additional language would be a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of the travel and hospitality industry a plus.
  • Bilingual French and English preferred (Quebec).
