The Group Reporting Manager is responsible for accurate and timely execution of group reporting, consolidation, and close activities. The role operates at the centre of the month-end close, ensuring high-quality reporting outputs to support Abcam’s submissions to Danaher and internal leadership on financial accounting and reporting.
Lead a small team in a hands-on capacity with accountability for core record-to-report activities, strong ownership of data integrity, and close collaboration with global entity finance teams, FP&A, tax and both internal and external audit.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:
- Take ownership of the consolidation, including the preparation and review of group-level manual journals and adjustment entries.
- Take a lead role on any technical accounting matters, including responsibility for lease accounting for the group (centralised at the head office).
- Lead month-end close delivery for the group and preparation of accurate group reporting packs for Danaher, under US GAAP.
- Take ownership of statutory audits for UK and Dutch subsidiaries.
- Execute key controls within the group reporting process in line with SOX requirements, ensuring documentation and supporting files meet required control standards.
- Take ownership of Abcam’s consolidation software (Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close Software).
- Drive process improvement, standardisation, and reporting efficiency aligned to DBS principles and partner with global finance teams to ensure data integrity, issue resolution, and high-quality reporting delivery.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent), with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical accounting skills, with knowledge of IFRS.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to prioritise tasks for multiple stakeholders set to deadlines.
- Experience in group reporting, consolidation, or external reporting.
- Experience with ERP/consolidation systems (e.g., Oracle or similar).
- Exposure to multi-currency and multinational organisations.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Working in a SOX controlled or listed environment.
- US GAAP accounting and standards.
