Position

Overview: We are hiring a HGV Mechanic who is motivated, enthusiastic and reliable to join our team in Leeds!

The HGV Mechanic role supports our operation by minimising downtime by turning vehicles around in a timely manner.

Proven experience working on HGV vehicles and curtain sided trailers is required for this position.

Shift pattern: Tuesday - Saturday // f lexible working hours available The successful candidate can choose their preferred shift start and finish times.

Tuesday to Friday, working 9 hours per day (including a 30-minute unpaid break) with start times between 6:00am and 8:00am and finish times between 3:00pm and 5:00pm.

Saturday hours are 8.5 hours, including a 30-minute unpaid break.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection and repair of vehicles to DVSA standards including MOT preparation.
  • General mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Light accident damage repairs.
  • Managing electronic database for vehicle and trailer defects.
  • Maintaining vehicle onboard technology – Satnavs / camera's / tacho downloaders.
  • Sourcing parts when required.
  • Ensuring paperwork is completed in a timely manner – timesheets / service sheets.
  • Offsite working may be required attending some breakdowns / vehicle issues at group depots within West Yorkshire

Role Requirements

  • Proven experience working on HGV vehicles and curtain sided trailers
  • Relevant qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ) or proven experience repairing and maintaining HGV vehicles is essential.
  • HGV (C+E) licence would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of DAF vehicles would be an advantage
  • IRTEC accreditation is desirable
  • A flexible approach to working hours
