We’re hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver (Tramper) to join our growing team. The role is general haulage, delivering a variety of loads including palletised goods, ambient food products, timber and paper. Full training on specific load types can be provided where required. We take great pride in delivering excellent customer service, so we’re looking for professional, friendly and approachable drivers who represent our business positively at all times.
Shift Pattern: Monday‑Saturday, including nights out. Night‑out allowance: £26.20 (tax free). Flexibility required.
Salary: £37,124.10 per annum.
Location: LS15 8AF (Leeds)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a HGV Class 1 vehicle
- Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
- Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
- Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately
- Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules
- Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle
- Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff
Role Requirements:
- Full UK Driving Licence with C+E entitlement
- Digital tachograph card
- Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
- Flexibility to work Monday to Saturday, including nights out
- No more than 6 penalty points (certain endorsements not accepted, e.g. DR)
- Minimum age of 22 (insurance requirements)
- Ideally at least 3 months’ Class 1 driving experience
