Position Overview
We are hiring a HGV Class 2 Driver, who will join our transport logistics team working with a dedicated customer with fixed delivery points.
Reporting to the Transport Team Leaders you will possess a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service while transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle care.
Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday // 08:00 - 18:00 (flexibility required) Salary: £36,315.50 Contract Type: Permanent Location: CO7 7JW (Colchester)
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the loading of the vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage.
- Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print
- Handle customer issues on delivery effectively
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
- Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
- Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits.
- Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum and report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the company’s accident reporting procedure.
Role Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence
- Valid CPC + Tacho
- Experience in collecting and delivering palletised goods with a tai lift
- Strong ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to identify vehicle issues and perform minor repairs if necessary.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in warehouse operations is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
