We are hiring an HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Class 2 Driver, who will be responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods to designated locations. The role requires compliance with road traffic laws, company procedures, and health & safety regulations, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service. This role is 60 hours per week and nights out will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with BRCGS (food and drink) and GDP (medicine) guidelines following training.
- Subsequently working in a responsible manner that complies with and increases product safety and quality.
- Safely operate HGV vehicles (Class 1 / Class 2 as applicable).
- Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
- Ensure loads are secure and transported safely.
- Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately.
- Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules.
- Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff.
Role Requirements
- Valid HGV licence Class 2.
- Digital tachograph card.
- Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly.
- Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks where required.
- HIAB licence preferred.
