Looking for flexible, practical work that fits around your availability? As an eXPD8 Retail Installer, you'll be offered project-based installation jobs in stores near you, paid at a fixed rate per job. You're assigned work based on your availability, with the rate confirmed before each assignment.
The amount of work will vary depending on client projects and your location, so there may be busy periods and weeks when no installation work is available. Most jobs take place on weekdays during the day, with some early morning, evening or weekend work.
Good with your hands? You'll build and install point-of-sale and display units, from free-standing displays and counter units to dump bins, shelf-edge signage and window graphics. Follow a clear brief, get the installation right first time and photograph the finished result.
Location: Retail stores across the Manchester area
Pay: Competitive fixed rate per job, confirmed before each assignment
Work pattern: Flexible, project-based work on an ad hoc basis, no guaranteed minimum hours
What you'll do
You’ll be our eyes and hands in store, making sure every installation is completed safely, accurately and to the brief.
A typical job looks like this:
- Receive your kit. Installation materials are delivered to your home for you to check and store securely until the job date.
- Head to store. Load the kit into your vehicle, introduce yourself to the store team and agree a safe working area.
- Build and install. Follow the brief and diagrams to assemble and position display units, adding basic graphics or light merchandising where required.
- Check and photograph your work. Make sure everything is right, take clear before-and-after photos and complete the job in our app on the day.
- Flag any issues. If something is missing, damaged or preventing you from completing the job, let the team know quickly so we can help resolve it.

What we're looking for
You’ll need to:
- Be practical, methodical and comfortable building flat-pack or modular units from written instructions and diagrams
- Be able to follow a brief carefully and take pride in getting the job right first time
- Be comfortable with the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, carrying, kneeling, bending and working at low level. If you need reasonable adjustments, just let us know
- Have a full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle. Display materials can be up to 1500mm x 700mm x 300mm, and you may need to carry several packs at once
- Have suitable space at home to receive and securely store installation kit
- Be comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for job alerts, photos and simple digital forms
- Be reliable, organised and confident working independently in stores
- Be willing to complete the required training and retailer accreditations.
It would be great, but isn't essential, if you've worked in:
POS or display installation, Shopfitting or exhibition builds, Kitchen or furniture fitting, Retail merchandising, Field service or multi-drop delivery, stock counting, other practical or hands-on trade.
