About ExperienceFirst
ExperienceFirst is a global tour operator operating in cities including Paris, New York, Barcelona, and Madrid. Historically, we’ve focused on mass-market, direct-to-consumer tours. As of this year, we are intentionally pivoting toward premium, private day experiences. We’re growing into new locations, including Edinburgh, and refining what we offer. Our goal is simple: delivering exceptional experiences, crafted with intention and designed to surprise. This role will help us do exactly that.
What Is The Role?
We’re looking for someone with strong local connections in the travel and hospitality space in Edinburgh. You know where to find premium private experiences. You understand what feels high-quality versus what simply looks good online. You likely have relationships with guides, boutique operators, venues or specialist hosts. We are specifically seeking people deeply familiar with the Edinburgh travel and experiences market. The best candidates for this role have strong judgement and are selective about what they recommend. Many experiences may look good online but fall short in person. We are looking for someone who can recognise the difference between something that is merely popular and something that is genuinely exceptional. This will be a flexible, part-time, independent contractor position.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Your primary responsibility is sourcing exceptional private travel experiences within Edinburgh, using your existing local knowledge and connections. You will:
- Identify strong local operators and private experiences aligned with our premium positioning
- Make introductions to suppliers and help open initial conversations
- Provide informed insight into reputation, pricing level and operational setup
- Share context on how an experience fits within the local market
- Surface opportunities we would not easily discover remotely
- Visit shortlisted experiences in person
- Provide structured evaluation feedback on experience quality
- Flag potential risks or quality concerns
You will not manage day-to-day operations or supplier contracts and you will not negotiate supplier contracts, act as a sales agent or represent ExperienceFirst in commercial negotiations. Your role is limited to identifying opportunities and facilitating introductions.
Who This Role Suits
This role is well suited to someone who:
- Is based in Edinburgh. We are specifically looking for someone embedded in the local travel ecosystem who can access opportunities that are difficult to discover remotely.
- Has strong existing connections within the local travel, hospitality or concierge community
- Understands what affluent travellers expect from a premium, private experience
- Has good judgement and can assess quality objectively
- Is comfortable initiating introductions and opening doors
You might currently have region specific expertise and work as:
- A tour guide
- A concierge
- A travel advisor
- A hospitality professional
- A travel content creator
Strong written communication and clear thinking are important, as your recommendations will inform commercial decisions. If you have strong local connections and take pride in knowing which experiences genuinely meet a high standard, please get in touch!
