We are looking for a new Terminal Controller at our Eastham site, ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, dispatch and transfer of client products. Ensuring compliance of drivers, contractors and other terminal staff with Exolum Terminals Eastham, Fire, Safety and Security instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Exolum safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Be fully familiar with the requirements of the On Site Emergency Plan
  • Act as Traffic Controller during on and off site emergencies
  • Supervise the receipt and dispatch of product to road vehicles
  • Ensure drivers comply with site safety rules on the loading bays
  • Carry out preparation of shipping lines before shipping operations
  • Operate site weighbridges as required
  • Assist the Senior Terminal Controller in carrying out his duties
  • Carry out planned maintenance inspections
  • Report damaged or worn equipment promptly
  • Maintain site housekeeping
  • Perform pigging and line clearance after shipping operations
  • Execute work to standards, procedures that meet COMAH requirements
  • Ensure all tasks conform to company policies, procedures and systems
  • Comply with the Values and Fundamental Principles of the company
  • Champion behavioural safety and staff health and wellbeing

About You

The successful candidate will have the ability to follow written procedures, respond correctly to alarm situations calmly, and work lone at night and/or at weekends in inclement weather conditions (PPE will be provided). Must possess the ability to halt activities deemed unsafe with good communication and computer skills (e.g. CSI system/weighbridge). Prior industry experience in aspects of fuel terminal processes is desirable. Trades experience (mechanical/electrical) with a solid education in Maths, English and Science is preferred. A trades qualification such as HNC or BTEC mechanical or electrical with process operating qualifications would be an advantage. Be prepared to complete training courses, including potential travel to other terminals.
