This is an exciting, full-time opportunity for an Environmental Consultant to join Exo Environmental and support us on projects at a local and national scale. We are based in Lenwade, just outside of Norwich, and our work is mainly focused on East Anglia but can extend to Cornwall, North Yorkshire and Wales. The post holder should show excellent attention to detail, have a good understanding of the complexities in the environment, have strong IT skills and be able to meet project deadlines. With our wide range of projects, we require an individual with a strong work ethic.

This position is a combination of on-site and desk based work, and will involve:

  • Conducting fieldwork in a range of site conditions, including soil sampling, water and sediment sampling, and hydrology surveys.
  • Scientific data analysis.
  • Report writing.
  • Consultation with clients (virtual and in-person meetings).

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of BSc in Environmental Science or a closely related subject.
  • 2 years’ experience in environmental consultancy and/or environmental surveying.
  • Experience and confidence on small watercraft used for surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of key environmental legislation and policy.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of physical environmental processes.
  • Excellent report writing and IT skills and experience of reviewing reports.
  • Excellent in-person and digital communication skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.
  • BNG assessment knowledge and experience.
  • Environmental Clerk of Works (ECOW) experience.
  • Habitat Regulation Assessment (HRA) experience.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) experience.
