The Role

This is a permanent part-time position commencing Term 1, 2026. Exmouth DHS is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Performing Arts Teacher with a passion for building creativity, confidence, and expression across a whole-school Kindergarten to Year 12 context. This position will immediately fill the Drama and English role commencing in Term 1, with a strong focus on delivering a cohesive and high-quality Performing Arts program across both Primary and Secondary settings.

The successful applicant will ideally design and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Performing Arts learning experiences across K–12 and will teach consistently in line with whole-school approaches to instruction, assessment, and behaviour, supporting continuity of learning across year levels and learning areas. Alongside this, the role includes teaching Secondary English across selected year levels through structured, evidence-informed pedagogy.

You will ideally create inclusive and supportive learning environments that nurture student talent and wellbeing, contribute to whole-school productions, performances, and community events, and work collaboratively within a committed staff team to strengthen learning outcomes and school culture.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers: Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role or transfer permanently into this school.
