Exlabesa is looking for a Technical Design Engineer for its Doncaster headquarters with the following main responsibilities :
- Provide technical support to customers and area managers.
- Design new aluminium systems and improve existing ones.
Main Duties:
- Offer general technical support, assisting customers (fabricators, contractors, main contractors, architects) and sales representatives with technical queries, and taking appropriate action based on their feedback.
- Update technical and fabrication manuals and documentation.
- Design new aluminium systems and improve existing products based on feedback from customers and sales representatives.
- Create die drawings and oversee all design stages, working closely with the die shop manager to ensure the feasibility of new profiles.
- Participate in product testing projects (e.g., performance, weather resistance, security).
- Collaborate with the marketing team to produce sales literature and prepare for product launches.
- Report to the Technical Director and provide weekly updates on project status.
Skills / Knowledge:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Fully computer literate.
- Experience and understanding of fenestration systems.
- Knowledge of aluminium extrusion, injection moulding, and other engineering processes.
- Ability to interpret and produce engineering and architectural drawings.
- Capability to work under pressure and clearly explain design ideas.
- Creative and logical thinking to resolve design and development challenges.
- Strong understanding of general engineering, design principles, and scientific concepts.
Schedule:
Mo-Th: 8 am-4 pm / Fr: 8 am-3:30 pm
