Role Title: Technical Engagement Manager - Diversified Industries

BU/Segment: Data Management

Location: London, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working). Travel required to client offices across the UK.

Summary of the role:

The Engagement Manager is responsible for consistent and successful delivery of EXL engagements from initiation through completion. This position works with Account Managers to develop proposals and statements of work for new business and collaborates with delivery enablement and resource management to staff engagements. Enables communication between clients, project teams and our internal support staff.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

  • Actively seek opportunities for expansion and growth within clients
  • Manage and drive account plans for assigned accounts
  • Build primary, trusted advisor relationships with clients to engage and strategize with senior level executives to identify additional areas of opportunity within data management, analytics, digital, etc.
  • Conduct periodic business review(s) within assigned accounts with clear articulation and measurement of business value brought through our engagements
  • Become a trusted advisor to senior level executives at client organizations to demonstrate EXL data management capabilities
  • Oversee successful delivery of services on client engagements in alignment with business requirements, project objectives, contracted deliverables and EXL methodologies
  • Management of client communication, budget tracking, ensuring adherence to delivery standards and monitoring team performance
  • Develop action plans to consistently address underperforming projects
  • Conduct engagement analysis to identify client issues, risks, opportunities, and their associated potential impacts
  • Identify and produce engagement metrics to be used in tracking engagement success
  • Identify, on board, assemble, and manage resources required to fulfil planned delivery to customer expectations
  • Manage project change requests, change orders, and corrective actions to ensure project success
  • Work with the Finance team to manage invoices, provisions, forecasts on a monthly basis
  • Facilitate consistent communication to stakeholders outlining status, risks, issues, and action plans, including accurate and timely updates to project sponsors
  • Assist with the recruiting of new consulting employees and contract resources by performing technical and non-technical interviews and providing feedback to hiring manager and recruiting

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or IT or 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • 10 years domain experience in Diversified Industries
  • 10 years of professional experience with BI/DW implementations and enterprise data management
  • 3 years of experience in technical architecture or project management
  • Experience with business intelligence, data integration, and SQL database implementations
  • Led project and development teams in implementation of complex systems
  • Highly competent with MS Project and standard desktop MS Office applications

Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have:

  • Experience with master data management, data governance
  • Experience with sales and/or pre-sales
  • Knowledge of project management discipline and methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban
  • Experience managing project teams of 5-20 people
  • A deep level of experience creating and managing project plans, including estimation, task identification, resource planning, resource balancing loading, and risk mitigation
  • Proven knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles and Methodologies (i.e. Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
  • Ability to lead team members, directly or indirectly, in completing high-quality major deliverables and produces results
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage complex project dependencies
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted advisor that builds influence with client management beyond simply EDM
  • Ability to conduct presentations to senior managers and large groups (25+) with calmness and ease
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpolate from abstract material
  • Ability to partner across the organization to coordinate resources and solve issues

  • Demonstrates strong understanding of the types of technology/tools available and how these are used in EDM solutions
