EXL is seeking an experienced AI Consulting & Solutioning Lead – Energy & Infrastructure (E&I) to join EXL Digital and help drive the growth of our Digital Transformation business across the UK and EMEA. This is a senior, client-facing consulting and growth role requiring strong domain experience within the Energy & Infrastructure sector, combined with expertise in AI, data, digital transformation and technology-led consulting. We are looking for someone who understands the E&I landscape, its business models, operational challenges and transformation priorities, and can translate that domain knowledge into high-value digital and AI-enabled solutions for clients.
The successful candidate will engage with senior business and technology stakeholders across the Energy & Infrastructure ecosystem, acting as a trusted advisor to identify transformation opportunities, understand complex business challenges and shape solutions that deliver measurable commercial and operational value. You will lead opportunities from origination and client discovery through consulting, solution design, commercial shaping and closure, bringing together multidisciplinary teams across AI, Data, Digital Engineering, Architecture and Delivery.
You will represent EXL’s broader portfolio of data- and AI-led transformation capabilities while ensuring solutions are grounded in the specific needs and priorities of E&I clients. A key part of the role will be driving growth. You will develop senior client relationships, identify new buying centres and opportunities, build and accelerate pipeline, shape propositions and contribute to EXL’s go-to-market strategy for the E&I sector across the UK and EMEA.
You will also lead strategic digital transformation engagements, including maturity assessments, transformation strategy, target-state blueprinting, technology and AI roadmaps, and implementation prioritisation, helping clients move from transformation ambition through to execution. This role is particularly suited to a commercially minded consulting leader with deep Energy & Infrastructure domain knowledge who can combine industry expertise with strong technology and AI acumen, executive-level client engagement and the ability to originate, shape and convert complex transformation opportunities.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
- Lead Digital in UK/EMEA markets (with preferred experience in E & I - Energy and Infrastructure)
- Define and implement go-to-market strategy for digital. Lead opportunity identification, progression, solutioning and closure.
- Represent the full portfolio of our data- and AI-led transformation solutions and products
- Proactively drive pipeline volume and velocity for the target business areas.
- Consultatively engage with clients, shape deals, and convert.
- Collaborate across services lines and BU teams to originate and shape new opportunities
- Develop and articulate the business and economic value of proposed solutions.
- Research new market opportunities across the target industry segments and capability areas, and source higher margin, TBP- and Outcome-linked transformation opportunities.
- Develop a network of contacts with existing and new clients to mine opportunities.
- Prospect and identify qualified opportunities for our digital.
- Digital transformation consulting for UK/EMEA clients
- Lead maturity assessments and blueprinting, and prioritize implementation roadmaps
- Understand clients' business objectives and challenges to define transformation strategy and tailor digital solutions for clients
- Ensure solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with industry best practices
- Assist clients in managing the change associated with digital transformation.
- Develop strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes.
- P&L ownership for digital transformation work in UK/EMEA markets
- Own P&L of digital engagements for the target industry/service lines.
- Create and drive revenue projections basis existing pipeline and new pursuits
- Develop and manage budgets for digital transformation projects, including accountable for the financial performance of digital projects and initiatives
- Develop and implement pricing strategies for digital services and solutions, ensuring they are competitive and align with market standards.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Deal pipeline, and velocity of opportunity progression and closure
- Transformation advisory to implementation conversion
- Revenue and margins of digital opportunities, including consulting, one-time implementations and annual recurring revenue through digital solutions and CoE opportunities
- Current client revenue expansion, including existing and new buying centers
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
- Strong professional experience within the Energy & Infrastructure sector, gained through consulting, technology services and/or industry roles.
- Demonstrable understanding of the E&I industry landscape, business models, operating environments and key transformation priorities.
- Experience advising Energy & Infrastructure clients on digital, data, AI and/or technology-led transformation.
- Established credibility engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders within E&I, with the ability to connect industry challenges to practical transformation solutions.
- Proven experience identifying, shaping and progressing complex consulting and technology opportunities within the Energy & Infrastructure sector.
- Strong understanding of how AI, GenAI, data, automation and digital technologies can be applied to improve operational performance, decision-making, customer outcomes and business value within E&I.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary solutioning teams across consulting, architecture, engineering, data, AI and delivery.
- Strong commercial capability, with experience contributing to pipeline development, revenue growth, deal conversion and account expansion.
