Job Summary
We are seeking a Ceded Reinsurance Analyst with around 3 years of experience to support the design, placement and administration of ceded reinsurance programmes. Working closely with Placement Officers and cross‑functional teams including Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Analytics, Legal, Operations, Brokers and Reinsurers, the Analyst will contribute to portfolio optimisation, risk management and successful reinsurance renewals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, placement and administration of ceded reinsurance programmes.
- Collaborate with Placement Officers and cross‑functional teams.
- Manipulate and interpret large datasets to produce insights and recommendations.
- Assist in the preparation of submission packs, renewal documentation and management information.
- Maintain reinsurance data and systems of record.
- Develop a strong understanding of reinsurance market, contract wordings, market trends and placement processes.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders, including brokers, underwriters, actuarial, claims, operations and analytics teams.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, automation and technology‑driven projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience within the London Market or a specialty insurance environment.
- Exposure to ceded reinsurance placements, treaty or facultative reinsurance.
- Familiarity with reinsurance concepts, contract structures and policy wordings.
- Experience preparing submission packs, renewal documentation and management information.
- Experience maintaining reinsurance data and systems of record.
- Experience working with brokers, underwriters and cross‑functional teams.
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives, automation or technology‑driven projects.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query and data analysis.
- Experience using reporting or data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau is advantageous.
- Progress towards a relevant insurance or risk management qualification is desirable.
