My client is looking to hire a senior lawyer covering consumer finance disputes in their London legal team on a long term contract.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a large portfolio of consumer finance disputes.
- Advising on regulatory and litigation risk and strategy.
- Advising on engagements with financial service regulators and industry bodies.
- Collation and presentation of legal data to senior stakeholders.
- Maintaining a proper record of the project and all related matters.
- Briefing of external solicitors and barristers and appropriate oversight of legal output.
Essential experience:
- Qualified English solicitor / barrister
- 8-10 years of experience in consumer finance / financial services regulatory disputes work (defence)
- Work experience in banking or legal practice.
- Advantage to have experience in advising on application and enforcement of regulation (Credit Act, Financial Markets Services Act).
